It was Torrie, it had a pink cover when I read it, and it still has strong impressions for me after all these years!

I was just adding books to Librarything when I remembered a book I had ready when I was about 10 (about 45 years ago!). I don't know how it came to be in the local library, but I loved it and readi t several times, and gave me a real insight into life in early America. so glad someone else remembers it!
