About meAuthor, activist, feminist, and general no-goodnick. The sight of Patrick Rothfuss often frightens small children and makes young women weep.

Terrified of getting involved in another social networking site, Pat has agreed to post up a profile on Library Thing as a favor to a friend, but, honestly he won't be hanging out here very much. If you want to read his blogs or get in touch with him, hitting his website is the way to go.

Dearest Patrick. I loved The Name of the Wind..to the extent that I bought everyone I knew a copy for Christmas two years ago and demanded a report. I've been trying like mad to get my hands on the second book that reportedly came out in 2008 and am very nearly about to lose my mind as my book-hunger rages unassuaged. Could you help? Where can I buy your book? Is it really out there or are they playing with my mind? Please don't stop writing. I nearly cried when I finished the book just because it was over and I was enjoying it so much.

Loved your book! Can't wait to find out what happens next!
I just finished reading "The name of the wind". I enjoyed it a lot! In the bookshop (in Ireland) they said the next book would come in February 2010. Good luck with writing :)
Any chance of getting an ARC PDF? (that's an advance reader copy e-book). I'm a fan of course, but I also proof (and supposedly I'm an aspiring writer with recurring writer's block).

Reeeeeeally enjoying "The Name of the Wind." Good to see you here. Nice to see we have some reading material in common. Best of luck to you.
Pat! I didn't know you were on LibraryThing. You just gained 27 awesome points, which puts you in the range of about a MILLION so far. Visit the prize counter to cash yours in for plastic spiders, stick-on earrings, and lethal doses of sugar.

Ha. I'm so witty.

But anyway.. This is Alison Franklin. I read your blog religiously and we're Facebook friends, which means we're real friends indeed. I'm so excited about how similar our libraries are.

Hope you're enjoying Europe!
Hey Patrick, we over in the Green Dragon are having a group read of you book and thought it would be great if you came over and said hi to all of us and join in with any thoughts from your perspective if you feel up to it. I have the link below, take a look, hopefully you come join us, we'd really like to meet you. So far everyone who has chimed in have had overwhelming support for the book and eagerly anticipating the release of book 2 in April. Hope to see you in the GD.
