About meI write novels and comic books for a living. The pay is sporadic but the commute is awesome. The winner of two Bram Stoker awards, my work has been featured in such diverse places as The New York Times, CNN, The Howard Stern Show, The History Channel, Publisher’s Weekly, Fangoria Magazine, and Rue Morgue Magazine.

About my libraryThese are the books in my personal library. I love my library more than good whiskey or cigars.

Cool, I don't mind the odd graphic novel but if I read those as well I would need a second job to pay for the books, readings not as cheap as I expected.
Lucky you, I'll be happy to pass 40 books this year, looks like you will easily pass 200 :-)
You've read 172 books so far in 2009? How have you managed that, I was happy to be on 33 so far.

Cheers,

Azeryk
Apparently this is it. I had forgotten I had an account here!

Hi, How is the book "Maneater"
Thanks for your response. Keep on touch with me.
Hi, Brian:

I just got The Rising: Selected Scenes from the End of the World. In the introduction, you mention that there is also a book titled The Rising: Necrophobia and recommend reading this before The Rising: Selected Scenes. However, I have looked in Amazon and at your website and I don't see this title. I'd like to read Necrophobia before Selected Scenes if it is available. Can you point me in the right direction?

BTW, what do you think of David Wellington's Monster Island trilogy?
Hey, Brian
Finally got it "The Bighead" - Ed Lee's preferred version SIGNED for $18.00 on Ebay - Is that a Steal ???
Mike
I can seriously picture you, sitting in your office, adding every god damn book on your shelf to this thing.
Did you manage to add 'em all yet?! I have a hard time believing that 1600 books is ALL you own
Hi friend, I am inspired by your collection

Thanks for acceptance.Cool. Glad to see you on Library Thing.
You can have friends on this thing too? God damn!

Hi Brian-
I just finished THE CONQUEROR WORMS and had to tell you how much I enjoyed it. You are a terrific story teller and you populate your tales with characters that I realy care about.
Thanks again and I am looking forward to reading more KEENE--as you are now my favorite author.
All the Best,

Sermons We See

by Edgar Guest

"I'd rather see a sermon
than hear one any day;
I'd rather one should walk with me
than merely tell the way.
The eye's a better pupil
and more willing than the ear,
Fine counsel is confusing,
but example's always clear;
And the best of all preachers
are the men who live their creeds,
For to see good put in action
is what everybody needs.

I soon can learn to do it
if you'll let me see it done;
I can watch your hands in action,
but your tongue too fast may run.
And the lecture you deliver
may be very wise and true,
But I'd rather get my lessons
by observing what you do;
For I might misunderstand you
and the high advice you give,
But there's no misunderstanding
how you act and how you live."
Hi, Brian.
Thanks, Brian for introducing me to LibraryThing.com. This is a fantastic site to catalog my books as well as to get many recommendations. I only just started to post my books here and like you, have alot more to go through.
See you in Asbury Park NJ for the Film Festival.
Good Luck With All !!!!

Thank you so much!!! I'm so excited I think I just turned into a teenager with a giant crush! I absolutely love your work, but I won't scare you by claiming to be your #1 fan. :-)
Thank you for friending me! I look forward to seeing your library get up. I also love my library more than whiskey (which isn't saying much since I don't like it) and movies (which is saying something since I have almost as many DVDs as books)! J
Brian,

Awesome to see you here. This is the one site that I actually keep up with.

Lesley
Nice seeing you here---nice sized library you have. If I still had HALF the books from when I was in junior high/hs I'd be here forever cataloging them!
Hi Brian-
This is an awesome honor! I didn't know you were a member of the Library.
Wow, I recently "discovered" your books last year and I have to tell you that i am now a big fan. "The Rising" & "City Of the Dead" are the best Zombie novels I have read in many years... Hell, the best 2 novels I have read in a long, long time. Please accept my "invitation" to be a friend on here.
Thanks and again, what a thrill!! And my mission is to read everything you have written.
Fancy meeting you here.

Thanks for "New Dawn", I enjoyed it.
Hi Brian! Nice to see you here. I think I've read most of your books by now. (Gotta admit the zombie ones are my favorites.) Cheers!
Great horror library, Brian. "I love my library more than good whiskey and cigars." That's a book lover, tried and true! And I totally feel the same way. Looking forward to the latest. -- Mike Arnzen
Thanks, folks! Good to be here.

I applied over the weekend to be a LibraryThing author. Not sure how long it takes.
Hey Brian,

Maybe you've done this already but if you haven't, you should pop over to this part of LibraryThing, http://www.librarything.com/librarything... and get registered as a LibraryThing author. You get a nice little badge for your profile and you get to join the list of other LibraryThing authors. . . . oh I just read the comments below and see that others have already given you this advice.

Oh well, welcome to LibraryThing!

--Greg
When I saw your friends invitation, my first thought was, "No. Not THE Brian Keene!" Now I must read every horror novel in your library (that I haven't already read). Please do add a horror tag to your books. I also second yoyogod's request that you get listed as an LT author.
Cool. Glad to see you on Library Thing. Are you going to get listed as a Library Thing Author?
