About meI am on my way back to working as a Library Media Specialist! After spending a few months teaching high school Social Studies, I realize that it is not the place for me. For the time being, I'll be working in an elementary media center, but will be looking at other library options beginning this summer.
I will continue to write picture books for librarians, and voracious readers!

About my libraryMost of the books I buy have been donated to my classroom library collection, but there are books that I simply can not give up. Sometimes it is because I know or have met the author, sometimes I connect with a character or story in a way that I know I will have to visit again.

Marion-
I don't know if you are an active member of the Librarything, but I was struck by the similarities of our response to this book. (Ieven made a set of stamps to match the book's creatures. Also, I donate loads-o-books to the local elementary school, where I am lucky enough to be a volunteer reader (from kindergarten to 4/5, I read for each grade), and if one of my books gets a raucous response, I get another copy for the Library). I also like reading the first (and sometimes second) book of a series for the 4/5 class, and then am really gratified when the kids tell me that they've continued on with the series on their own- what a joy!
